Celestino Caballero
Celestino is from El Paso, Texas. He is majoring in Economics with a minor in Philosophy. He currently works at the Latin American and Iberian Institute at UNM. He is actively involved in the local LULAC chapter as a student organizer. His parents' social activism inspired the work he does with immigrant issues.
"I grew up in El Paso, TX with many immigrant kids that I am proud to call my very dear friends. It opened my eyes to different types of injustice, from the classroom to our local neighborhoods. I feel that I am now ready to give back to my community and help create more opportunities for immigrants."

Elisabet Gonzalez
Elisabet is from La Sierra Tarahumara in Chihuahua, Mexico. She is majoring in Cultural Anthropology and Latin American Studies. She currently works with the Community English as a Second Language (ESL) program with the UNM Service Corps.
"Giving back to the immigrant community is one of my main goals while I'm going to school in the United States. I think it is important that the community knows about different types of resources available to them; as well as people out there that are willing to lend them a helping hand in whatever they might need. I want to promote unity in the immigrant community and assure them that they are not alone. "¡El pueblo unido, jamás será vencido!" Sergio Ortega
